The Ever-Evolving Ava, Wait

So as most of you know, we have been without a perminant bass player for a while now. We have been blessed with many friends that have helped by filling in for us along the way. Well, life throws curve balls at random sometimes and we have recently had to say goodbye to Sean Fitzsimmons who has been with us from our humble beginnings and played an intrigal part in helping this project really blossom. By simple mathematics you might say that leaves us with a serious problem. Well, life is funny sometimes and it just so happens that we had a couple of great musicians fall out of musical oblivion and right into our laps. So while we remember the old and thank them for all they have contributed, we will welcome and embrace the new. Here is the new Ava, Wait.

Doug Allison - Drums
Jarrod Cardinal - Guitar
Caleb Davis - Bass
Craig Niemoeller - Guitar
Gareth Nelson - Vox

Springfield 1.20.11 / St. Louis 1.21.11

We had a blast last week. Our journey to Springfield was a great success. We met a lot of great people and we cant wait to go back. Thanks to The Outland Ballroom for treating us so well. Those guys and gals really know how to party. None of us were excited to get up the next morning, but we knew we had to get back to St. Louis and see all of our friends there. The show at Fubar was nothing short of awesome. We were all extremely pleased with the droves of people who came out to see us. t warmed our hearts to know that after all these years there are so many people who still love our music as much as we do. The after party was drunk, and that is the way we like them. So, needless to say, it was fun. We are going back into a short hibernation for now, but we have high hopes for what this year shall bring. Talk to you all very soon.

Ava, Wait

1/4/11

Here is the scoop.

Ava, Wait has been largely off the map for the last year or more due to the focus that we have directed toward creating the best album possible in 'Lost Vegas'. With our EP (Forget the Weekend) we didn’t take the time to set ourselves up for success when we released it in 2006. Although the 3 years that we spent playing shows and promoting that release were extremely fun and fulfilling on many levels, we never really expanded out of a small market. We were young and didn’t know what the music 'industry' was about.

Fast forward to 2009 and we are 18 months into what was soon to be named 'Lost Vegas'. We went through three different producers, spent time in five different studios and said farewell to our long-time friend and bass player at this point. And we were still having a hard time seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. We didn't just want to make an album that was good and our friends and fans were going to enjoy. We wanted to make something that was going to change the way people thought about Ava, Wait and propel us onto a new stage and chapter in our career.

2010 brought with it a lot of positives. We relocated to Las Vegas and welcomed a new management company into our camp with Sophistic Arts. We set out to prepare ourselves to release this record while giving ourselves the best opportunity to succeed. This involved a lot of planning and strategizing. With us being spread out between Las Vegas, Saint Louis and New York, much of the work that needed to get done often required long hours in front of a computer screen.

May of 2010 saw the Completion of the album and we had a successful 2 week regional tour in August to start renewing interest. Over the Holidays we finally landed a booking agency with Forward Motion Entertainment. With all the planning done and all the pieces in play we believe that we are finally ready to set this train into motion.

We have a few shows scheduled for the end of January that we are extremely excited about. We hope to see all of our friends and fans that we have gained since our humble beginnings in the summer of 2004. We will be hitting the road in March so please be excited with us because it might not be too long before we reach that new level that we have been striving for.

Ava, Wait on a sunday...Batting cages LOST VEGAS

rain rain rain

it stormed like crazy today in the desert. Man, i love the rain.
i think bright eyes says it best, "Now I'm drunk as hell on a piano bench
And when I press the keys it all gets reversed The sound of loneliness makes me happier"

It feels good to feel bad. It feels good to feel emotion.

I'm into today.

No Way New

The evening started out so great,
but then the clouds rolled in
and I sabotaged this conversation again
I inherited the worst genes after all

I'm just like you
The paint has all faded while the rust has invaded
You have no way new
There's still a chance for me

I'll never know who was the thief
His collar was like wolves teeth and he took a bite right out of me
I'll never know how that son-of-a-bitch slept at night

I'm just like you
The paint has all faded while the rust has invaded
You have no way new
There's still a chance for me

Take a swing on me
Take a drink for me
I'm running under water
Feet don't fail me now

I'm just like you
The paint has all faded
While the rust has invaded you all
You have no way new
There's still a chance for me
There's still a chance for you

There's no way new, not for you

All Bets Are Off

I close my eyes and I see your round face
Black rimmed glasses, sweating all over the place
What you did was a shame to cover your own disgrace
I've got something that you need it's oh, so precious and so sweet

Let's get famous in Vegas tonight
On the TV is where I fight
The papers and press are so wrong
All bets are off

So you put all your money right on black hoping to get your money back
It's not going to happen like that
You better better watch what you've got because you'll never know when it's not there anymore

Let's get famous in Vegas tonight
On the TV is where I fight
The papers and press are so wrong
All bets are off

I'm all in - my cards are loaded - but the house always wins

I feel pressure in my chest, I need a release to forget the rest
I've been in papers with stories and such, but to me, my friends, this was the greatest touch

Let's get famous in Vegas tonight
On the TV is where I fight
The papers and press are so wrong
All bets are off

I'm all in - my cards are loaded - but the house always wins
