Mid Summer

This album is becoming more important than if I had a child. Its 2 years in the making and still not done. Now there is a strange pressure because it HAS been so long that it better be the best record ever...good thing it is=) I have only 4 songs left to sing and then Fitz can do his thing and then we can put all the background vocals and other little magic on there. It feels good to be doing this on our own. Justin is still helping engineer, but thanks to our good friend Josh in Nashville we were able to get some great gear to finish everything without relying on anybody.
We did suffer a computer shitting the bed, but Justin brought his computer over and got us back to work in only 2 weeks. Still...something always seems to be getting in our way.

Last night I sang a song with the working title 'No way New' and I left with such excitement. The song has always been a special song, but after hearing the vocals by themselves I got goose-bumps. I think this song will end the album. It feels like a good last song...

I promise to update this more often than not. Be excited.

Here are the lyrics for 'No way New':

The evening started out so great then the clouds rolled in
I sabotaged the conversation again, why?
I inherited the worst genes after all

I'm just like you except your paint has all faded and the rust has invaded
You have no way new
There's still a chance for me, still a chance for me

I guess I'll never know who was the thief
His collar like wolves teeth
Took a bite right out of me
I'll never know how that son-of-a-bitch slept at night

I'm just like you except your paint has all faded and the rust has invaded
You have no way new
There's still a chance for me, still a chance for me

I'm running underwater
Feet don't fail me now

I'm just like you the paint has all faded and the rust has invaded us all
You have no way new
There's still a chance for me, still a chance for me

there's no way new at least not for you
